March 2009 Newsletter

Each year at this time after the decorations are put away I look at my house with a critical eye, seeing what rooms need a little TLC – or a total redo.

The first thing I am going to do is memorize, once and for all, Martha Stewart’s method of folding a fitted sheet.  After my guests were gone, I washed all the sheets & the fitted ones now sit in a wad on their shelves, after once again, in a fit of frustration I gave up any semblance of ordered folding.  But after that task is completed, I am starting on my dining room.  I think.  Or maybe the weird space off of the media room that is currently the dog’s domain, but is sorely in need of an actual purpose (at the very least).  Do you have any of those issues as well?

Here’s the Deal

Maybe you have a project that you want to tackle, or all you have time for is some simple window treatments or a re-fresh of a room, we can help.  During the month of January, set up a time with Susie to spend an hour at your house ~ her normal fee will be waived with any purchase you make in the store.  A consultation is a great way of identifying and streamlining the vision you have for your home.  Susie can help in any area:  framing your ideas, where to start, how to use what you have, prioritizing your wish list, and refining the look you have.  You can learn more about Susie here.  Call to visit with her about helping you implement your design goals in 2010!

These Treasures Will Travel

If you’ve been by the store recently, you might have noticed the SAM storage container parked in our lot.  It will be housing donations for a community wide tag sale called Treasure and Trinkets Rummage Sale, accepting donations of clothing, furniture, household items, etc., to sell at the event.  So if streamlining and simplifying are part of your plans for a fresh start in 2010, start gathering.  Call us for the schedule of when the container will be manned by volunteers (or in a pinch drop your treasures off with us & we’ll make sure they get inside).  The proceeds from the event benefit the Junior League of Dallas community fund, which helps out a whole lot of people in need.  (And if you need their storage, SAM will give a donation to the Junior League if you mention our container.)

Wishlist Fulfilled

If you have some homegoods on your list still not crossed off, ALL regularly priced pieces are 20% off during the month of January.  (Plus we have some great things marked down even further!)

We look forward to seeing you!
